Track Name: Bitter Waste Body
no taste the bitter stinger
Track Name: The Drag
People in rooms were playing bumper car with ego and libido: unpleasant, alienating scenery.
Spit and televisions forced to the floor.
Socks turned mops were lost in a plastic bag, so fifteen-year-olds outpaced you the next day in work-themed drudgery when your family's keeping score.
You never factored in the drag of the famous lost weekend, so you're stuck doing math, trying to catch up and erase the lowest common denominator flavor from your mind's palate.
A rare case in which no taste is better than poor taste.

Track Name: Dry
I awoke to find myself seated at a bench in a bus stop shelter. I blinked and looked across the street. A small, rickety, wooden storefront with peeling painted letters saying "DISCOUNT ANTIQUES" sat alone there. The sun would've been bright, but the sky was overcast and I could tell the clouds hadn't broken at all yet. It was so cold. I let out a tight sigh, grimaced, and shifted, trying to scratch my back, but the seat was smooth metal. I wondered where the skateboard was. I wondered what time it was too, but searching for my phone, I found only cigarettes. I breathed in deeply, coughed, and gagged. After wiping the moisture from my eyes, I stood up from the bench and began moving in the supposed morning. I wasn't handcuffed or bloodied. Counting myself lucky, most important was getting back home.
Track Name: The Bird In-Between
The bird in-between: "I'm much better than this, though I weather what I get. But until the re-ascent, not a peep nor a wing. I will be unseen."
